SIM2’s Grand Cinema™ C3X LUMIS 3D Wins Prestigious CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award 2011

Honoree in the Video Displays category

The Grand Cinema™ C3X LUMIS 3D projection system is designed to reproduce 3D images with the same depth and vivid intensity as those experienced at the cinema. And now, it has been bestowed with a prestigious 2011 Innovations Design and Engineering Awards honoree prize from the CES Innovations jury, who chose it as a distinguished example of innovation in the Video Displays field.

Since 1976, the annual Innovations Design and Engineering Awards program has given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their latest products judged by a pre-eminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the specialist media. The panel honors outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 35 product categories.

Products chosen as the most impressive in each category are selected as ‘honorees’ and can be seen at the CES show in Las Vegas (January 6-9, 2011), in the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase in the Grand Lobby.

This award is further testament to the R&D and engineering capabilities of SIM2 Multimedia, in pioneering the path of innovation in high performance video display devices.

Grand Cinema™ C3X LUMIS - winner of a 2010 Innovations Award – is used as the basiis of the C3X LUMIS 3D system, and is one of the products chosen by Francis Ford Coppola for his home and studios. Legendary film director Francis Ford Coppola - a five-time Academy Award-winning film director, writer and producer, best known for his celebrated classics the Godfather trilogy and his Vietnam War epic Apocalypse Now – has endorsed SIM2 projectors since early 2010. Mr Coppola visited the SIM2 factory in Italy in 2008, where he enjoyed a personal presentation of the manufacturing process, from design concept to finished product, prior to purchasing a SIM2 projector for his studio.
